The notion of a finish line in healing is a trap. There is actually no end to it. Nothing grows at the same rate and nothing matures under the same conditions.

Knowing that the nature of healing is endless can also be a trap. Because imagine this being the thought racing through your mind at 11:00 p.m. when you’re trying to sleep. But it can also be a trap door.

The trap door leads to a secret world, where everyone is entitled to their time, their process. In this world we are not adversaries in each other’s ways, but mirrors through which each of us is able to witness aspects of our experiences.

Let this trap door be what you enter at night instead of the racing panic of all the things you must get done in this life. You will never get “there,” so enjoy the ride.
