A Meditation on Generosity

by | Jun 22, 2022 | Generosity, Journal, The Nest | 0 comments

Generosity, or liberal, willing giving, is a practice in seeing the divinity in something outside of you.

The direction of the generous gaze is out, and this week’s guided meditation in The Nest is designed to help you make a habit of this.

If you’ve had enough spiritual training, you’ve probably learned to focus your attention inward. And if you’ve lived in our shared culture, you’ve learned the mistake of scattering your attention outward to find an answer to your problems.

This will be different. You’ll learn to come out of your inner shell and hold your attention in a generous gaze.

By intentionally cultivating this state, you’ll be more equipped to focus on something outside of you that is worthy of your gaze. And there is a lot to look at in this big, beautiful world.
