Befriend your body. Rewrite the story of your life.

It’s not so much that food is yours to take but that you are taken by food.

Sure, you may have cooked it. You may have even grown it. But like all things that are created, the food belongs to life.

So give it its due. Consider the way every bite gathers the ripples created from the path of cultivation to preparation and sends those directly into your body. And after they’ve lingered with your particular company, those ripples extend beyond you and become the fingerprints you leave behind on every doorknob you turn.

This is why it pays to pay attention to what you’re tasting. Let it come to you, open your mouth and fill your tongue with its promises. Invite every bite to soak into your skin until you are bursting with plasma and the vitality that will soon follow.

Let what lingers on your tongue point you to the heart of all you’ve ever loved.

Bon appetit.
