Intimate Alchemy

Transform the story of your sexual self. Awaken your power.

Welcome to the space where healing can be pleasurable. Welcome home to your body and the power of your erotic self.

How to heal intimacy wounds

Humans need intimacy. It’s not just a physical need, but a social and emotional one. We are literally wired for connection with each other.

But life often gets in the way.

If you experience challenges around physical and emotional intimacy – whether it’s ED, performance anxiety, difficulty being present during sex, low libido, difficulty with orgasm, sexual trauma, or struggles in finding meaningful romantic connections – the first step to overcoming them is to know that you’re not broken. You just need some routine maintenance.

Your body knows exactly what it needs. But if you’re like most people, you haven’t had training to listen to the wisdom within you, to overcome the shame of being an erotic being, and learn how to express your needs and honor others’ limits.

The path to an authentic and meaningful erotic expression comes not from shutting off the parts of ourselves we are afraid of, but from relating to our whole selves.

This is the path of intimate alchemy.

What does Intimate Alchemy look like?

Every person who works with me comes with a slightly different set of challenges, strengths, and desires. But nearly everyone has experienced violations of physical or emotional boundaries, past struggles with communicating their needs, and an overwhelming desire for meaningful connection with others.

If you know how deeply powerful your erotic expression is but struggle to find the right form for it in the world, this work is for you.

How we work together

The work we’ll do together is guided by my extensive studies in a range of fields, including somatic sex education, sexological bodywork, BDSM/kink, trauma recovery, energy healing, yoga, herbalism, and esoteric/magical practices. We’ll draw upon all of these as we shape a path for you to experience an entirely new framework for your sexuality and intimate relationships.

But above all else – you set the pace. I don’t come with a predetermined agenda for what I think you need. I bring guidance, wisdom, and practices, but you are the expert on where you’re ready to go.

Sessions can be in-person or online. Depending on how we meet, we might explore:

  • movement to reunite you with your pelvis, your feet, and your whole body (men especially often find that working through the body with movement, breath, and nervous system regulation opens doors that years of talking haven’t)
  • education on and practice of what consent actually means (beyond “no means no”)
  • breathwork to invite life back into parts of you that have been cut off by trauma
  • role play and archetype exploration to express, invite, and expel personas that show up
  • self-pleasure coaching to help you overcome barriers and find new pleasure possibilities
  • touch – directed by you (this is not an erotic massage but a chance for you to explore your voice and choice in a low-risk setting)
  • creative practices, including journaling, mind mapping, art creation, and more

Above all else, our sessions move at the pace of your nervous system.

A note for men: Most of my inquiries come from men who are quietly carrying something they’re ready to put down. Whether it’s a pattern that isn’t working, a disconnect from their own desire, suffering in silence, or pretending it’s okay, I offer a rare space where you don’t have to have it figured out. You just have to show up.

Who is this work for?

Intimate Alchemy is for you if you want to shed shame and the lingering effects of trauma.

Intimate Alchemy is for you if you feel like you’re either too much or too little when it comes to sex and relationships.

Intimate Alchemy is for you if you’ve never had a space to talk honestly about sex. Not to perform or impress, but to actually be heard.

You are welcome here if you want to:

  • heal traumatic sexual experiences and gain a more resilient nervous system
  • address physical limits, such as ED, vaginismus, low libido, and more
  • overcome fear and shame of your sexuality
  • learn the living practice of true consent (this goes beyond “no means no”)
  • explore your sexuality after a divorce, illness, pregnancy, or other big life event
  • learn how to build sexual and romantic relationships that feed you and your partners

I invite you to this work if you have a specific intention in mind or if you are just curious about exploring your sexuality. Whatever brings you here, I welcome you on this journey of sex and spirit.

How to begin

We start when you share a bit of your story. Set up a short call with me to share a bit about where you’re at and what I might be able to offer. If we’re a fit,  me where you are in your journey, your pain and pleasure points, and what you are aching to express in the world. Using that information, I’ll design a custom package that will help you reclaim your role as the hero in your story.

Please note that I don’t accept everyone for Intimate Alchemy. If you are invited to work with me, we will create shared agreements and intentions to guide our time together, such as pacing of sessions, showing up on time, and asking for what you need. As the practitioner, I will uphold these agreements and support you to do the same.

Packages start at $1100.

About me

I’m Sonja Semyonova, a somatic intimacy educator with 20+ years of study and practice of the body, healing, and intimate connection.

My training spans a wide range of focus, but also runs very deep. I spent my early days as a sexual assault counselor, which awakened me to a decades-long study of how we heal trauma physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. On this path I’ve studied psychology, somatics, mysticism, magic, yoga, earth-based traditions, and much more.

Seeing how the power of our sexuality and ingrained need for human-to-human intimacy has been at the heart of both our greatest pain and our greatest pleasure, I have been immersed in the study of sexuality and intimacy since 2020. I’ve studied with a range of teachers and modalities, including somatic sex education and sexological bodywork, BDSM/kink, sexual trauma recovery, and more.

My work is grounded in rigorous training, but it’s also shaped by my own journey through layers of sexual wounding and coming back out the other side. I know what it takes to rebuild a relationship with your body, your desire, and your capacity for real intimacy. And I know it doesn’t happen through willpower alone.

Most of the people who find their way to Intimate Alchemy are men. They are capable, self-aware men who have tried to figure out how to deal with intimacy on their own and have struck out. I have a special place in my work for acting as a witness to and a guide for men who are genuine about finding a new place in this very different and ever changing world of love and intimacy.

Regardless of your gender, I’m here to support you to find the tools, language, and permission to understand your body and your erotic life. If you’re done waiting for things to shift on their own, join me for Intimate Alchemy.

Karma yoga (on the path of motherhood)

I like the skins on sweet potatoes. I enjoy their texture and I like knowing that there are nutrients in them. I also don’t particularly like peeling them. It adds an extra step that is not necessary, which makes a difference in the limited time I have to cook us a meal. But she doesn’t like them. If I leave the skins on anything — sweet potatoes, carrots, grapes, even chickpeas — she sticks out her tongue and spits until the offending characters out of her mouth. Perhaps the texture is too much for her smooth baby tongue. Or maybe she doesn’t have the right technique to adequately grind the skins down with these new teeth of hers. My job is to smooth the rough road ahead of her, so I peel the sweet potatoes before I put them in the food we will share.

This too with love

I lived on Kauai for the past two years. During that time I never seemed to see the news. No one I knew had televisions and I almost never saw a paper. But as we are transitioning our life to Mexico, I have been stationed at my in-laws’ house in a suburban purgatory for a month. This is my vacation to the rest of the world. Here, the news is a part of life.

It’s not that I value being uninformed. Quite the contrary. It is that I value learning what I need to learn without taking a healthy dose of fear alongside it. It is possible to do this, though it does take a bit of work because everyone has a slant, including me.

How I learned to become an Ayurvedic baker (plus a recipe for cookies you can eat for breakfast)

When I was in my early twenties, I woke very, very early and hauled myself into a kitchen of a cafe in Boulder, Colorado. I flipped on the lights at 5:00 a.m., turned on the ovens, and spent my morning hefting gigantic trays of steaming muffins, pies, and cookies from back of house to front.

Baking has been in my DNA since I was born, and it was delicious fun to live out my childhood fantasies as a professional baker. But as much as I loved spreading the perfect cream cheese frosting on a carrot cake, this new direction kept appearing for me. At the same time I was learning to perfect my cheesecake recipe, I was learning about the effects of refined sugar on my body. I was whipping up layer cakes while doing candida cleanses, and suddenly it just fell apart. I left my job as a sugarplum drug dealer and sadly tucked my apron deep into the back of my pantry.
