Befriend your body. Rewrite the story of your life.

I once heard a story about the meaning of enrichment.

It was about the c*ck of a god that was torn off and swallowed by a fish. It was lost forever. But as the tale goes, it is the reason that the land becomes fertile when the great river floods.

Though this is the tale of a god who falls for Mother Earth. Though we aren’t the fish that got the lucky catch, or the land that got the benefits of that friend, we can still open our mouths and invite this kind of enrichment to spill out.

Enrichment – fertilization – is what happens when someone sees you. Really sees you. Sees you not for all your clever trappings but for what has laid dormant for years.

At first it may feel like a curse for someone to see your unspoken desires and name them aloud like they’re calling in the ancestors, but it won’t take but a minute for you to run toward the silt that forms at their vision of possibility.

Tell me this is not what the ancients knew when they celebrated the waters rising between the banks of two lovers. Tell me that this is not the truth that has threaded us since that story about that fecund fish was etched in stone.

Alone, your rough dirt will never be enough to invite life. But take the seed that another presses into your form and your soil will soon burst with sprouts.

Hear the whisper from this ancient god: All we need to do to become great is risk losing everything. And then, we will become even more.
